Gmail is one of the most robust email clients around town, especially when armed with a solid set of extensions. The following 5 Chrome extensions and Firefox add-ons are must-haves for all Gmail'ers. These plugins will transform your inbox into an email powerhouse—like Gmail on steroids. Give them all try and you'll wonder how you ever lived without them.
#1 - Boomerang for Gmail
Boomerang for Gmail lets you take control of when you send and receive email messages.
- Send Later: write an email now and schedule it to be sent automatically at the perfect time.
- Boomerang: archive messages for now and set them to automatically return to your inbox when you need them.
- Response Tracking: make sure you follow up within a specific time frame after sending a message. You can select to only be reminded if nobody replies, or regardless.
#2 - Rapportive
Rapportive gives you relevant information about your contacts, just to the right of the message. You can immediately see what people look like, where they're based, and what they do online. You can also connect with contacts on social platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook) and record notes for special people.
#3 - Taskforce
Taskforce converts emails into tasks, so you can stay organized and build a to-do list out of your inbox. You can also delay tasks that can wait until later.
#4 - Send from Gmail
Send from Gmail opens a Compose window when you click any email addresses on a webpage. It also provides a browser button that creates a Gmail message when clicked, using the page title as the subject and selected page text and link addresses as the message body.
#5 - Unsubscribe
Unsubscribe allows you to easily remove unwanted emails from ever being sent you again, protecting you from phishing and virus scams as well as reducing inbox clutter.
